East Lothian Run : 17th Mar 2002

Familiarity breeds contempt. What does lack of familiarity breed? I've driven roads in East Lothian before so I can't say I was particularly looking forward to this run. Yes, it was a chance to meet and yes it was a chance to drive in convoy which is the best way to drive a 5, but it was going ..........

Technical Day : 17th Feb 2002

You could argue that anyone who knows about cars has already done all the jobs on their car that need doing and oesn't, therefore, need a technical day. However, that leaves a large number of people who may have nowhere to work on a car (it may be street parked for example) or who are a little ..........

Kames Track Day : 3rd Feb 2002

It was my first day on the track and my first day off it too. 4 cars met at McDonalds Newbridge for a 9.30 departure and a one hour drive down to Kaimes near Muirkirk in Ayrshire. As we approached the place, the weather brightened, but only momentarily and it rained for much of the day. Being ..........

Planning Meeting : 13th Jan 2002

The planning meeting took place at the Bowtrees Farm restaurant near Kincardine Bridge in Cental Scotland. It was a highly successful meeting and we managed to plan the monthly runs right through to January 2003. Members present were asked to provide their favourite runs from the past few ..........

Christmas Lunch : 8th Dec 2001

The annual Central Scotland Christmas lunch was a resounding success with excellent company and fabulous food. Four cars met at Newbridge MacDonalds for the trip West. This also turned out to be a great time to tell Simon that he should have bought a present to put into the lucky dip present ..........

Lap of Fife Run : 25th Nov 2001

As if in tribute to the Network Q Rally, today's run was more of a collection of some wonderful "special stages" separated by some less interesting roads. The sections between the A91 Strathmiglo and Abernethy and between Falkland and Leslie were true twisty-turny MX5 roads, the latter made ..........

2001 Rally of Scotland : 30th Sep 2001

Stirling to Blairgowrie and Spittal of Glenshee then back to Perth. Poor weather, but a great run. Thanks to Iain Fleming for organising the day and, hey, we got the hoods down on the way back to Perth. This run would be wonderful on a sunny day (it was already excellent on a wet day). ..........

Dumfries Run : 12th Aug 2001

10 cars made the trip to Abington services in questionable weather. A few new faces who hopefully will feel that they want to join us again. Despite the grey skies, it was tops down all the way (and we stayed dry!). We had lunch at the Selkirk Arms in Kirkcudbright where, coincidentally, ..........
