East-West Weekend
Sat 19th Apr 2008 to Sun 20th Apr 2008
organised by Grampian Scotland

Car Count : 4
[ show pre-run info ]

The weather at our start point in Inverurie did not look too promising for our first North Scotland East weekend run. Never mind, hats and gloves on we headed up to Grantown-On-Spey for lunch at the Heather Centre. The sun came come out so things were looking up and it made the scenery all the more stunning. We drove on a variety of roads during the weekend but my favourite was the one in to and out of Kinlochleven. It has to be said that the west coast has some of the most outstanding scenery. Driving through Glen Coe was pure dead brilliant! The most testing was the 'very' single track road to Amulree from Kenmore. All went according to plan (pretty much!) and a grand time was had by everyone. Thanks guys for making the weekend so enjoyable.

Excellent trip all round, it was great getting to grips with the 'three sisters' of Kinlochleven, one car had the advantage of a lighter payload on day one which would have helped on the twisty bits. I want to go out and do it again!!

It certainly did help. Guess what was sitting on the bed by the cat when we got home!

Ditto to that...we had a great time. Roads and scenery were superb and the sun even came out for most of the weekend. Thanks to Lorraine and Ian for organising the logistics of it all. I am unable to comment on Lorraine's packing skills but it sure bring new meaning to travelling light
