TCR Championship Knockhill
Sun 13th May 2018 to Sun 13th May 2018
organised by Central Scotland

Car Count : 14
[ show pre-run info ]

A great day out -I left the house in light rain and a brolly in the boot and arrived at Knockhill with the sun coming out and a light wind. I was 12th car to arrive and met up with members old and new and a few non members also, who expressed an interest in joining our club. I set up our area flag and headed off for a coffee followed by a walk round the racing team tents and juggernauts to view the cars.

I might be biased but I thought the MX-5 races were the most exciting as there were a lot of entries, and the front and middle of the pack were very competitive.

The Mazdas were lapping in about 1 minute compared to the TCR touring cars which lapped in about 55 second with the Golf GTi showing a clean pair of heels to the Honda Type Rs and Alphas.

I was at the wrong end of the track at the start of the Formula Ford race where there was a big pile up and the race was abandoned, but at least that allowed the next MX-5 race to start sooner.

The sun got stronger as the day wore on and I did notice a couple of club members who had travelled from the borders having a few ZZZs in the car after their very early start.

I had enough by around 4pm and headed for home after a great day out.

Post event note to self - take sun block next time.

Knockhill weather brilliant, MX-5 races even better. Forehead rather red but seem to have been spared Panda eyes. Fourteen cars were in show area.
