The big refurb

Postby Macdond » Mon Feb 13, 2017 2:04 pm

Well, I thought I would start to document the refurb of my mk 1 1.6. Just finished the front sub frame and suspension:

1. Wishbones blasted and painted.
2. New IL Motorsport bushes.
3. Relatively new coil overs.
4. Replacement ball joints (Upper and lover).
5. New bearings.
6. Front sub frame blasted and painted.

How satisfying is that to look at!? Restored suspension is a thing of beauty - nice work. Look forward to seeing the rest of the car!

Brake calipers painted and new hoses:

Not really happy with finish. I wouldn't recommend Halfords caliper paint.
